  2. the `bad boys' of rock. Original members were
  3. Mick Jagger (1943-), Keith Richards (1943-),
  4. Brian Jones (1942-1969), Bill Wyman (1936-),
  5. Charlie Watts (1941-), and the pianist Ian
  6. Stewart (1938-1985). A rock-and-roll
  7. institution, the Rolling Stones were still
  8. performing and recording in the 1990s. The
  9. Stones' earthy sound was based on rhythm and
  10. blues, and their rebel image was contrasted
  11. with the supposed wholesomeness of the early
  12. Beatles. Classic early hits include
  13. `Satisfaction' 1965 and `Jumpin' Jack Flash'
  14. 1968.
